RHS Media Center

Library Media Specialist: Gloria Hughes

About the Library:

The attractively designed library media center at Riverside High School was completed in 1999. The over 9000 book and media collection is automated using the Athena Software system. The library media specialist works to encourage reading by offering a wide selection of books and materials for students to check out.  The media center has 15 computer workstations, 26 laptops, Apple IPod cart and an IPad cart for students  to access the online card catalog program and research assignments.

In collaboration with the school’s staff and goals, the Western Line School District media centers will provide access to 21st century learning through its technology and collection of resources and by extending services to the students and local community.

The mission of the Western Line School District Library / Media Center Program is to promote the appreciation of literature and reading; it strives to provide resources which support the curriculum and help to prepare students to succeed in an information society.
